TrillerTV

Overview

Triller Live was originally designed as an “app within an app,” both technically and visually. This siloed approach created significant UX challenges—users were isolated within the Live environment, with limited entry or exit points connecting to Triller’s core functionality. As a result, opportunities to boost user retention, discoverability, and broader app engagement were missed.

The goal of this redesign was to rebrand Triller Live as TrillerTV, bringing it closer to Triller’s core identity while improving user flow, increasing engagement, and encouraging further discovery post-stream.

Challenge

  • Improve integration between live streaming and Triller’s core ecosystem.

  • Reduce “dead ends” in the user journey, particularly post-broadcast.

  • Increase user retention and content discoverability after a stream ends.

  • Make the experience visually cohesive and aligned with Triller’s brand.

Solutions

Live Viewing Experience Enhancements

  • Navigation Clarity: Introduced a back arrow to allow easy return to Live or Upcoming streams.

  • Profile Preview: Added a visible profile module for the broadcaster, enabling users to follow or view the profile mid-stream.

  • Branding Update: Included a persistent “TrillerTV” watermark logo to unify brand presence.

  • Planned Improvement: Move live chat into the stream view for real-time interaction without leaving the video.

Broadcast Ended

Before the update, the end screen was a functional dead end—users had no actionable next step, often resulting in app abandonment.

Redesigned Features:

  • Follow Broadcaster: Prompt users to follow the host directly.

  • Profile Exploration: Link to the broadcaster’s video and profile content.

  • Verzuz Events: Display results for special event streams.

  • Discovery: Surface other live and scheduled streams to drive further engagement.

  • Community: Allow users to explore:

    • Viewers from the just-ended stream

    • Most popular broadcasters

    • Top fans, supporters, and promoters

Impact

These improvements created a more seamless and branded experience, encouraging users to continue engaging with the platform even after a stream concludes. Early indicators suggested improvements in follow rates, time spent in-app post-stream, and re-engagement with related content.
